Germany is full of places you never knew you were looking for.

I love discovering these little churches tucked away in villages you would probably drive past without a second thought. From the ground they feel charming, but from above you suddenly see how beautifully they belong to the landscape around them, quietly standing there as they have for generations.

I don’t know what it is about the cake cutting, but it’s one of my favourite moments to photograph. Not because it’s a tradition or another item on the timeline, but because it’s usually the moment when everyone lets go. There’s laughter, frosting on someone’s nose, happy cheers from your favourite people, and the day feels wonderfully carefree.

One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is this little walk to the reception, when the timeline pauses for just a moment and it’s finally just the two of you again. After all the excitement of the ceremony, the congratulations, and the happy tears, you suddenly have a chance to look at each other and quietly think, we’re married.

I always encourage my couples to take these small moments together, because they become a gentle reminder in the middle of a wonderfully busy day. No conversations to keep up with, no schedule to follow for a few minutes - just the chance to breathe, hold each other’s hand, and let it all sink in before the celebration begins.

Years from now, you may not remember every little detail of the reception, but you’ll remember how it felt to steal a quiet moment together.

Reading messages like this after a shoot on the Amalfi Coast with Crystal & Ivan always reminds me why I love this job so deeply. It’s easy to talk about beautiful locations and dreamy sunsets, but what stays with me are the people behind the photographs and the trust they place in me.

Some places are beautiful because of how they look. Lisbon is beautiful because of how it makes you feel.

Lisbon is one of those rare places that never loses its magic. Whether the streets are glowing in the warmth of summer, wrapped in golden autumn light, or filled with the quiet calm of winter mornings, this city always feels alive in the gentlest way.

I think that’s what I love most about photographing couples here. Every little alley, every viewpoint, every tram passing by becomes part of your story, while Lisbon quietly does what it does best: making you slow down, hold each other a little closer, and enjoy the simple feeling of being exactly where you’re meant to be.
