Portugal tried to blow us off the cliffs, but love held on.

Charlene & Fabian dreamed of an elopement on the Portuguese coast. Just the two of them, the ocean, and that quiet feeling of doing it their own way. What they got was wind so wild it felt like the cliffs were trying to shake us loose, hair everywhere, laughter mixed with that little “are we okay?” look, and hands gripping hands a bit tighter than planned.

And somehow, that made it even more honest. Not polished, not gentle, but real in the best way. Choosing each other while the world is loud, holding on when everything around you is moving, promising forever with salty air in your lungs and your feet planted like, we’re here, and we mean it.

Somewhere near the Eiffel Tower, Jaden & Justin looked at a Paris street lamp and thought, “Yeah… that’s the spot,” and I swear I’ve never loved a decision more. Tuscany outside, butterflies inside.

Very often grooms aren’t sure if getting ready photos are right for them. They’re afraid it might look too staged, that they won’t know what to do, and that it’ll feel weird being photographed while getting dressed. And I totally get that. I always tell my couples: I’m not just capturing how you’re getting ready, I’m capturing that calm-before-the-storm feeling. The moment when the groom adjusts his cuffs and tries to play it cool while his whole face says, I’m really getting married today.

I love these getting ready moments because they’re the last few minutes where everything is still simple. Just nerves, excitement, and that sweet little buzz of what’s coming and they deserve a place in every wedding story, not as filler, but as the beginning of it all. 🤍

Nicole & Kai in the Dolomites. Behind them, those peaks rise like a backdrop from another world, dramatic and fearless. Barely paying attention to the breathtaking surroundings, Nicole and Kai look at each each other like they’re sharing a private joke the wind can’t carry away.

I love this kind of simple moments: two people moving forward, matching pace without keeping score, letting the day unfold one step at a time. And when you turn your head and find each other’s eyes, all that grandeur behind you somehow becomes secondary. Like the mountains are just there to remind you that real love isn’t loud, it’s constant.

The little things aren’t little at all.

I always come back to the details. The flowers you picked and adjusted a hundred times in your mind, the rings that suddenly feel heavier with meaning, the book holding your vows like a secret you’re brave enough to share, the earrings you chose because they felt like you, the shoes waiting by the door, and all those little sun-shadows dancing across the room like the day is already celebrating.

It matters to me to photograph these things, not because they’re “pretty” (though they are), but because you cared. You put time into it, you made decisions, you imagined how it would feel, and you made your day yours in a thousand quiet ways. When everything later becomes a beautiful blur of hugs and happy tears, these images bring you back to the calm before it all. To the intention, the tenderness, the effort that deserves to be remembered.
