The showed up in long coats and I loved it. Stacey was playing with her scarf and the wind turned it into something special. Shooting at the Atlantic coast are the kind of shootings where the weather becomes part of the story instead of something you fight. Not trying to control anything, just letting it happen.
 Once the sun had set, the moody light showed up. That was the moment when Stacey and John stopped “posing” and started leaning in. And I’ll be honest… these are some of the most powerful love moments a photographer can capture. Loving it! When you realize this isn’t a shoot. It’s your lif When you realize this isn’t a shoot. It’s your life. At first it felt like a normal little walk and taking some photos of Cennet and Leon while they were running around and having fun. We had soft light and it was nice spring evening. It was Leon who suggested to do a proposal photoshoot and I instantly love the idea. We had agreed on a sign from him, when he was about to proposed. Then that nervous kind of focus hit im. His body already knew what was coming. You can plan a surprise proposal all you want, but you can’t plan what your hands do when your whole heart is on the line. I remember that Cennet froze for a second, like her brain needed to catch up with what was about to happen. Then her face changed to surprise, disbelief, this small wave of emotion you can to hold back and she said yes!

Paris doesn’t feel like a postcard… until you star Paris doesn’t feel like a postcard… until you start writing it. The funny thing about a Paris couple photoshoot is that it never stays in one mood for long. One minute you’re swallowed by the Metro: fluorescent light, rushing footsteps, your reflection slipping past in the window and the next you’re above ground again, breathing, laughing, pretending you’re not a little lost… even when you are. Those are the moments I love most about couple moments. Not the “perfect” ones. The real ones. We met the city underground first and then headed to the Eiffel Tower. Jaden und Justin were writing postcards, filming each other, making the simplest things feel important. It had this romantic couple shoot in Paris softness to it… but also that messy, living, “we’re here right now” kind of joy that you can’t plan. The kind of day that doesn’t get loud; it gets dee The kind of day that doesn’t get loud; it gets deep. The Dolomites have this quiet way of making you speak softer. Like the mountains are listening. Like you don’t want to disturb something sacred you didn’t even know you needed. Also at Lago di Braies… where everything felt a little unreal. The clear water, the stillness, the way the light kept changing its mind. 
Just the perfect spot for a free wedding ceremony. No performance, no timeline, no eyes on you except the ones that matter. Just two people deciding, out loud, to choose each other. I remember thinking for a second: how honored I am to be a witness to something this intimate.

Soft hearts, strong women, loud happiness! I stil Soft hearts, strong women, loud happiness! I still hear it. That split second before they said yes and then the room just… opened. Not in a quiet, tidy way. In a way that they couldn’t stop smiling and asking: are we really doing this?! kind of way. The civil wedding of Susanne and Helga in Bielefeld felt like watching two strong women choose each other out loud. Just them and their beloved ones at the civil wedding, having happy faces like they’d finally made it back to themselves. 
This is what I love about documentary wedding photography: it doesn’t polish you. It always keeps the human touch. Like every wedding photography story where the main ingredient is pure, unapologetic lightness.
